Evolution Toy is expanding their classic Super Robot line with two new stellar entries! First up in August will be Gaiking. He stands just under seven inches tall, is made of PVC and die-cast and will feature Evolution’s innovative magnetic ball joint construction. Also slated for release in August is this absolutely gigantic Daiku Maryu – Space Dragon! This thirty one inch long behemoth has already got the fans excited and will feature some nifty gimmicks! Not only will it combine with Gaiking, as featured in the animated show, but it also has magnetic ball joints and will come packaged with its three classic support vehicles – Nessar, Skylar and Bazolar. Look for Gaiking and Daiku Maryu to retail for around $169.99 and $249.99, when they are released this Summer.

Grindhouse Film Festival: King Kong vs.Godzilla in Portland!
On Tuesday April 24th at 7:30pm, the Grindhouse Film Festival presents a rare 35mm print of King Kong vs. Godzilla! Advance tickets are strongly recommended as this show will probably sell out.
King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) Godzilla breaks free from an iceberg and heads straight to Tokyo to start tearing the city apart. Meanwhile, a pharmaceutical company captures King Kong and brings him to Japan. It’s only a matter of time before he breaks free, and we see a colossal collision between the two mightiest monsters of all time!!! Directed by the great Ishiro Honda.

Starship Troopers Powered Suit from Revoltech-finally!
Revoltech showed prototypes of this somewhat obscure character when they launched the Tokusatsu line over a year ago. It seemed to vanish, which usually means they ran into licensing issues. Big surprise this week-it’s back and looks like it was definitely worth the wait. This powered suit from the Starship Troopers 1988 OVA stands approximately 6 inches tall and is of course-super articulated and loaded with accessories. It features thirty moving pieces and comes packaged with two alternate hands, a nameplate, a revol-stand and a super cool pilot! Watch for this one in May for about $45.00.
